HOW TO MEASURE FOR BEST ACCURACY |
Bust: |
Measure around the fullest part of bust under arms, with arms relaxed down at sides. (Best to have help with this one if possible.) |
Sleeve Length: |
For set-in sleeves, measure from point of shoulder down outside of arm past elbow to wrist with arm relaxed at side. |
Wingspan: |
With your arms straight out at sides, measure from one wrist straight across to the other wrist. We use this to determine sleeve length on styles that have no shoulder seams. (Best to have help with this one if possible.) |
Sleeve Width: |
Measure the shoulder seam of a top that fits you well, or around the widest part of your arm. |
Top/Dress/Coat Length: |
Measure from the highest point of shoulder, over bust, straight down. |
Waist: |
Bending slightly to one side, find the crease that marks your natural waist, stand straight again and measure around. |
Hips: |
Measure around fullest part of derriere/hips with feet together. |
Skirt Length: |
Skirts are measured from center front. On yourself, measure from the waist down. On a well-fitting skirt, measure from top of the waistband down and compare. |
Pant Length: |
On yourself, measure from the waist down. One well-fitting pants, measure from top of the waistband down the sides and compare. |
Inseam: |
Using a pair of well-fitting pants, measure from inside crotch seam to the hem and compare. |
Rise: |
Using the same pants, measure from the intersecting seams of the crotch to top of waistband. |
